Queer camp was the best camp I've ever been to (and the only camp I've been to). I should've probably wrote this the other day when my memory was still fresh and not blarghed and not old news. and i decided to post my amazement for it on DA. it was an awesome utopia for queers, not just because gay people are there, but their activism, their opinions gave me all the more reason to fight the cause. (by cause I mean equal rights and such) It challenged my opinions and in a way made them stronger in a sense that I actually cared enough to support my opinions.
It was just mind boggling that the people I stayed with for 4 days were so open minded, there was no prejudice that stopped anyone from being insecure about their opinions. The whole camp felt like a family to me, the bond we all shared probably gave me true safe place along with Alice and Lucy with me.
At first I was devastated to think that it ended but Alice helped me think of it as the goal I want my world to be (thanks Alice). I would remember the days of learning how to 2 step with tons of partners, and the obstacle course that I raced Lucy in, and the talent show of awesomeness that made me love my 'stache again C:
All in all it was a place I met the most wonderful people in and now I have to go run a campaign on anti-(gay) slur because I'm gonna make a change...I promise
